I am really pleased to see debate on different types of biofuels and the distinction being made between 1G and 2G. Blanketing all biofuels together just leads to confusion and bad judgements.

I've been blogging about biofuels in Brazil (link below), but it's good that the debate isn't just focussed on the Americas.

For goodness sake, stop this sell off. Rights of way will be lost, stop all this lying ! Give these forests to the charities,eg,Woodland Trust,RSPB, these should be given, free of charge! All natural woodland charities, have an army of volunteers, can raise funds to keep all woodlands maintained. Im sure after this stupid proposal, many more would have been recruited !

ILUC is not a 'new' concept.

And it's not 'science' that postulates ILUC, it is just a fact of life on a planet with finite resources.

ILUC penalties or allowances will be fudged by policy makers eventually so the biofuel industry can continue delivering its false climate change solution.

And EU politicians and officials can say they have achieved the magic 20% renewable energy target. Even though up to half of that renewable energy will come from burning plants and animals causing worse overall climate impacts than burning fossil fuels.
